Sexsplain

In 2019, Natasha Richards (University of Essex) undertook a placement with Sexplain, a company that provides comprehensive and inclusive sex education to young people.

Natasha says: “I loved the inclusivity of Sexplain: being a part of the company felt like being a part of social change in action. They do not just pay lip service to inclusion, but ensure it is always at the core of their practice. They are a ground-breaking company and I am very grateful to have had the chance to work with them.

Though there were many wonderful moments during the placement, the memory of thirty boys holding up play dough vulvas and discussing how different they all look and how that is a positive thing, will always stand out in my mind.”

Sexplain Director, Amelia Jenkinson says: “Natasha's input during her placement was invaluable to Sexplain. Natasha not only co- and lead- facilitated numerous high-quality sex and relationships education workshops for Sexplain, but she also reviewed all of Sexplain's workshops, designing new and creative activities to improve the interactivity of our sessions.”
